Today was the last day at my work. It was actually quite tough and a bit sad (yes there is a soft side behind this tough exterior). It was the end of an era. I have had many eras in my lifetime since I have moved around quite a bit and had short lasting jobs. Working at Encubator was my first full time "real" job with a steady months pay. I have learned a lot about myself and about working in an office. For example, I have learned that I work better in projects rather than day to day based activities with no precise deadline. I have learned that I really enjoy event planning and may look into event management in the future. I have learned how important structure and organization is to a successful company. As well as how communication is the most fundamental thing but also the most difficult thing to accomplish successfully. I think I have also become stronger as a person and less sensitive and learned to decide when to listen to others and when to trust my own opinion - never thought that this is something I would learn in an office but good all the same.
I am very thankful for this work experience. I was first only hired to complete one specific project, to complete Encubator's annual Progress Report. However after 6 weeks, I received a one month extension which later led to another 3 month extension. Now that the high season has ended and I am moving to Australia, after more than 6 months, my work here is done :). I can now happily write - Marketing Project Manager at Encubator, on my resume and start looking for jobs in Adelaide.
Ending my job at means that my time in Gothenburg is soon coming to an end… :(. I'm living it up this week though with a busy schedule... stay tuned :).
