Pressure can burst pipes or make diamonds
Great start to the season with my favourite guy playing well with a massive win over one of the best teams.
Hopefully the season will continue like this. Article below about my boy being ice cold in the last minutes :)

Where's Home?
It's so strange how you can get a culture shock in your "own" country (where you're supposedly from), feel welcome in your parent's home and don't have a home/house in the country you grew up in.
Home is where the heart is?? I guess I better find my heart...

WARNING: Crap, shit, poo and more negativity!
Ok so I decided to actually pull the thumb out of my ass and update my blog a bit. I feel like I need it to save this terrible day.
My aunt who does healing and feels auras and that kind of stuff that I'm not sure I have believed before but she told me about a year ago that I have a crazy big aura around me. This is not really a good thing. If you have a big aura then that means that you feel the energies off other people a lot easier and get affected by the people around you and their auras and moods. When she told me this, I completely believed her. I have always been a person who gets really upset when other people are upset, get excited for other people when they are really excited and really get affected by positive and negative energies around me. I absolutely HATE it and I wish I could change it. My aunt told me I have to bring my aura closer towards me, my brothers tell me to not be so sensitive and Rhys tells me to not give a shit about what other people think. I have tried all of these and when I try my hardest to think about other stuff other than the shit going on around me, it sometimes works but then there will come that day when everything just kind of becomes too much and I burst and can't do it anymore - that day is today.
I have been slaving away at work. I absolutely love my job but with as with any job, there are always some negatives. Being in the entertainment business, all you are trying to do is to keep fans/customers happy and provide entertainment. However, it is impossible to please everyone and make everyone happy and since people have an incredible urge to find something negative and bad about every thing, which they love to express and you only ever hear complaints. People who are satisfied and happy with their lives don't very often say too much. So just imagine kicking your ass in trying to do the best you can for a work place and trying to satisfy as many people as you can but all you hear back are complaints complaints complaints. Sounds like a lovely life huh? Anyway, like I said, most of the time I just ignore them and some I think I even convinced them and turned them but then there is that one comment that will just put you over the edge. For example, the devastating Queensland floods have been happening for the past week (which also has been depressing) but to try and make it in to a positive, I suggested we raise money for it at our next game. So we got a sponsor on board to pay $100 for every 3-pointer made during the game by either team, as well as pay $5 for every ticket bought at the door and $10 for every family ticket as well as collection tins going around on the night. Most people would think that this is a great idea and it could only receive positive feedback right? WRONG! This chick goes on Twitter and writes: "Every 3 Taipans players hit $1900 goes to QLD Floods. Makes @Adelaide36ers donation seem... little"
I just don't understand how some people think. It is not a competition and every little bit counts! Way to put a downer on a great cause! As my awesome colleague tweeted back to say:
"One of the club's sponsors is doing something great to help victims of the floods - no need to belittle them!"
So glad he put her in her place! I know this little incident does not seem like much but when you have to deal with negative comments all the time, like I said, something like this will just tip you over the edge.
Today was also filled with some other negativity which there is no need to explain since there is no need to spread more negativity around.
Miss my family and friends on a day like today!
Funnily, the song Hakuna Matata just came on my ipod while writing this post. Now that is how to end a day :). "Hakuna Matata, what a wonderful phrase... it means no worriieesss for the rest of your daysss... it's our problem freee philosophy... Hakuna Matata!"
Let's make tomorrow the best day ever!

Work work work
My work is taking over my life! Today was a very depressing and negatively influenced day with complaints, a lack of happy people around me and the crazy deadly floods in Queensland, which people will not stop talking about and it is all that is on TV. Not a happy Jan! May fill you in sometime soon about other stuff when I pull my thumb out of my ass and actually start blogging again. But at this point in time, my thumb is still half way up there so no complete update now.

2011
2011 has arrived! Wanted to share a text I received from my brother when ringing in the new year!
"Happy New Year to you !! I wish you all the best and hope all your wishes will come through in 2011. I hope it will be YOUR year!! :) "
I wish everyone the best year ahead and hope it will be your year as well because I know it will be mine ;)

Family
I don't usually bitch about a lot of people, usually because I don't really dislike a lot of people. I feel like I get along with most but when there sometimes does happen to be someone, that is when I miss my family the most. Sometimes you just really need to get stuff off your chest and when you are in this ugly state of bitching about other people, you don't want the person who you are talking to, to judge you and that is where family is the best kind. Your family usually always know how you feel even when you don't really have to tell them exactly. They understand in a way that noone else does. They know that you are not an ugly person even though you are bitching. They listen when you need them to, they love you no matter what and more often than not, they agree with you.
I guess I'm missing them just a little bit.

I'M BACK!
Shame on me!! It's been over a month since I last posted! Terrible blogger! I have no excuses.
Anyway, back into it... I am now officially an Australian permanent resident! This means that I can live in Australia as an Aussie but without some benefits and stuff but the main point is that I can go in and out of Australia without worrying about any more visas and I can work!! Woohooo! Let's party! Well no, let's work and get some cash! I have spent all of my hard earned savings from last year, plus some, trying to live without working and paying for my visa so now I need to try and fill my bank account again. Just in time for the expensive holiday to come around. However, in Australia it doesn't feel like Christmas whatsoever. I could possibly just go through this month without realising that it is even Christmas season and the Christmas days will feel like any other days so not sure I really need to even decorate - saving money already :).
At the moment, I've made my way back to beautiful white snowy Europe and here the Christmas season is at it's best with snow, 5 hour days, lights everywhere, Christmas shopping in shops, and baked goodies. In Sweden, this is probably my favourite time of year. It brings me back to my childhood. Since I got to my grandpa's on Friday, which is where I've spent most of my Christmas' growing up, I've been pumping the Christmas music, stared at the snow fall for several minutes (even saw reindeer in the garden, gotta love the country!), and stuffed my face with gingerbread cookies, Swedish saffron buns and Christmas food. Although I have already realised that my metabolism is not as quick as when I was a child and the food I have been stuffing my face with is already fattening me up. At least it will keep me warm in the -8 degrees at the moment. This is giving me my real Christmas fix before I go and spend Christmas in 30 degree heat in Australia.
Met up with V for chocolate martinis at the Chocolate Bar in Harrods. Was great to catch up since I haven't seen her for months and the martinis were actually real good - they're chocolate, so of course.

The reindeer I was looking at through the window while eating breakfast.
Beautiful winter day!
My mom baking gingerbread dough. Yes, just the dough - a typical family tradition. We never make it to the actual making of the cookies because the dough is too good. If we want cookies, we buy them. This dough we keep in the fridge and we go and pick at it during the month of December and we make more if needed :).
The dough and a yummy "lussebulle" (saffron bun) made by the neighbours. Neighbours are nice in the country.
Before I made it to Sweden, I was in London for a few days visiting the brothers. Here are a few snaps from those days..
Went out to eat for every meal, that is what I love about London, great and often cheap food. Here, I am enjoying a yummy thick spanish hot chocolate, to dip Churros in for breakfast.
My happy brother even though the weather is so dull and grey outside.
Demonstrations on the street causing chaos. Like London needs more traffic problems.
The pathetic amount of snow that London got and this caused a HUGE amount of chaos! It was like the white stuff was falling from outer space (you know what I mean) and they had never seen it before and had no idea how to react. This caused a large amount traffic problems, people not coming to work, cancelled meetings, and delayed flights and trains especially! Which affected me when I went to fly to Sweden on the Thursday, the Stansted Express train took 2 hours instead of 45 minutes to get to Stansted, which made me 5 minutes late to check my bag in with RyanAir - the worst customer service company in the world (I was literary reading an article about how they were the worst in the world, that morning) so after causing a bit of an embarrassing scene, I had to buy a new flight for the next morning and ride the train back in to the city again. A whole day of travelling was then followed by another when I got up at 5 am to make my early morning flight which was then delayed an hour, which delayed my bus ride in Sweden, which made my grandpa wait. Anyway it was nice to finally arrive.
Loving quality time with the fam!

Weekend came and went
Gosh this weekend went quick, however I didn't really get to have a weekend. Friday night, my man thought I'd been working so hard lately so he felt I needed a break and took me to a cute little restaurant near by for a glass of red a great meal. He's the best!
Saturday, my volunteering job for the Adelaide Fashion Festival started so I was at the Morphetville race course promoting and raising awareness about the festival. It was an awesome set up. It was a fashion show of racing dresses designed and made by second year TAFE design students. Sone great dresses and some leas great. However, everyone who attended dressed up in their best fashion, which also had some hits and some misses. Great couple of hours though!

After that I went to a trade show with a different colleague to see what we could get for our auction coming up at the end of November.
Saturday night then ended up awesome by meeting up with my friend T, who I haven't seen in over a year! I know her from Rhys' home town and when we used to live in Melbourne. It was great catching up with her with some Chinese and a glass of red. It was like we had seen each other last week rather than over a year!
Sunday, I went back in to the office to help out a little bit before the big game, the Adelaide 36ers vs Wollongong Hawks. Unfortunately it didn't end up the way we wished and we lost in the end. Big shame, it felt like we had the energy and we were with them the whole game but we just couldn't really get on top of them and the last quarter was a bit ugly. The night ended up with a table of 25 people at LaVita restaurant who donated to our auction. Very grateful! Lovely family restaurant! Go check them out on Grange road.
Although busy but fun weekend! Now back to the start of the week...

Busy busy busy
Been so busy lately that I haven't had any time to blog! However I did catch a few snaps...

Rhys brought home some great cheese from a promo.

What I'm really busy with!!! I made the invite :)

Went out for Korean BBQ with Sandra's friends from Uni. My new favourite restaurant.

Beautiful Megan.

After dinner, we headed out. First time out in Adelaide. Actually had a really good time.

Ended up at a classy strip joint (if you can ever call them classy). One of the biggest clubs in Adelaide actually.

Next day, S and I enjoyed a relaxing day getting manicures and pedicures! Great girls day while the man was gone.

Made pink cupcakes for pink ribbon day.

The weather started to improve and my baby and I went out to eat by the beach in front of a beautiful sunset just sitting in a t-shirt late at night.

I'm having a great time in Adelaide although I am missing all you peeps at home! Write to me!! Time differences are the worst!!
Biggest positive thing this week is that I got everything for my visa done and sent it off! Now the waiting game begins...
