I'M BACK!

Shame on me!! It's been over a month since I last posted! Terrible blogger! I have no excuses.

Anyway, back into it... I am now officially an Australian permanent resident! This means that I can live in Australia as an Aussie but without some benefits and stuff but the main point is that I can go in and out of Australia without worrying about any more visas and I can work!! Woohooo! Let's party! Well no, let's work and get some cash! I have spent all of my hard earned savings from last year, plus some, trying to live without working and paying for my visa so now I need to try and fill my bank account again. Just in time for the expensive holiday to come around. However, in Australia it doesn't feel like Christmas whatsoever. I could possibly just go through this month without realising that it is even Christmas season and the Christmas days will feel like any other days so not sure I really need to even decorate - saving money already :).

At the moment, I've made my way back to beautiful white snowy Europe and here the Christmas season is at it's best with snow, 5 hour days, lights everywhere, Christmas shopping in shops, and baked goodies. In Sweden, this is probably my favourite time of year. It brings me back to my childhood. Since I got to my grandpa's on Friday, which is where I've spent most of my Christmas' growing up, I've been pumping the Christmas music, stared at the snow fall for several minutes (even saw reindeer in the garden, gotta love the country!), and stuffed my face with gingerbread cookies, Swedish saffron buns and Christmas food. Although I have already realised that my metabolism is not as quick as when I was a child and the food I have been stuffing my face with is already fattening me up. At least it will keep me warm in the -8 degrees at the moment. This is giving me my real Christmas fix before I go and spend Christmas in 30 degree heat in Australia.

The reindeer I was looking at through the window while eating breakfast.

 Beautiful winter day!

My mom baking gingerbread dough. Yes, just the dough - a typical family tradition. We never make it to the actual making of the cookies because the dough is too good. If we want cookies, we buy them. This dough we keep in the fridge and we go and pick at it during the month of December and we make more if needed :).

The dough and a yummy "lussebulle" (saffron bun) made by the neighbours. Neighbours are nice in the country.

Before I made it to Sweden, I was in London for a few days visiting the brothers. Here are a few snaps from those days..
Went out to eat for every meal, that is what I love about London, great and often cheap food. Here, I am enjoying a yummy thick spanish hot chocolate, to dip Churros in for breakfast.

My happy brother even though the weather is so dull and grey outside.

Demonstrations on the street causing chaos. Like London needs more traffic problems.

Met up with V for chocolate martinis at the Chocolate Bar in Harrods. Was great to catch up since I haven't seen her for months and the martinis were actually real good - they're chocolate, so of course.

The pathetic amount of snow that London got and this caused a HUGE amount of chaos! It was like the white stuff was falling from outer space (you know what I mean) and they had never seen it before and had no idea how to react. This caused a large amount traffic problems, people not coming to work, cancelled meetings, and delayed flights and trains especially! Which affected me when I went to fly to Sweden on the Thursday, the Stansted Express train took 2 hours instead of 45 minutes to get to Stansted, which made me 5 minutes late to check my bag in with RyanAir - the worst customer service company in the world (I was literary reading an article about how they were the worst in the world, that morning) so after causing a bit of an embarrassing scene, I had to buy a new flight for the next morning and ride the train back in to the city again. A whole day of travelling was then followed by another when I got up at 5 am to make my early morning flight which was then delayed an hour, which delayed my bus ride in Sweden, which made my grandpa wait. Anyway it was nice to finally arrive.

Loving quality time with the fam!
