Touristing around Stockholm

Been wanting to post for a while but haven't had much time. Last Sunday was Sweden's national day - Go Sweden! I was in Stockholm with Rhys' mom walking around Gamla Stan (The old city), which is my favourite part of Stockholm. We walked passed the castle and it was apparently open for everyone to go in. All of the sudden I became a tourist in my own country and wanted to walk all around in and go to every room I could. Of course no pictures were allowed to be taken but I managed to sneak these in:

A few guards standing around. We noticed that we had just missed the changing of the guards since we almost stepped in the big pile of horse poo everywhere.

The beautiful castle from the inside courtyard.

The cars and carriages belonging to the castle. This carriage is the wedding carriage the royal couple will be driving around next week.

Some girls flirting with the guards.

The most beautiful chapel.

Dressed up characters for the reenactment of how the Bernadotte family became the royal family.

Good history lesson for me. I am ashamed to say that I know very little about Sweden.

View from the castle. A big concert going on for the national day and the theme of the year - LOVE STOCKHOLM 2010 - to celebrate the royal wedding.

Love touristing in my own country :).
