First week in Adelaide

I spent most of my first week in Adelaide in stores and shopping centres. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the house was pretty much empty with just a TV and few couches so shopping had to be done. During the week, I went to several stores and scouted out the best things for the best prices. I bought a few small things along the way but the big stuff I waited for the weekend when Rhys could help me carry it all and help swipe the credit card :).

I am really excited about how it is turning out though. On Saturday we bought a TV unit, a coffee table, a dinner table with four leather chairs all for 458 AUD. I am such a great bargain shopper. I also visited one of my favourite places 3 times during the week - IKEA! My home away from home :).

Still need a few more things to finish the place up but am loving it so far. So important to have a home that you love - even though it is freezing at the moment.

Friday night, I went to a University party with my dear friend, S. It felt a little bit more like a middle school, maybe high school party. Theme was Glow in the Dark so we all received white t-shirts, which we cut up in different ways and a highlighter to write on each other. Felt quite dirty when I got home with marker all over me but it was good fun and great to meet some people in this not so big city.

Sunday, Rhys and I went to the Adelaide Show, which is like an exhibition/fair with rides, lots of different stands with companies selling stuff and of course the trashy food, which I love :). We pigged out and checked out what they had to offer.

Apart from mainly shopping the past week, I have been doing a whole lot of sleeping.. I guess the jetlag did eventually catch up with me and I've been taking 2-3 hour naps during the day and going to bed early but also been waking up early. However I'm doing better now with sleeping from 10pm to 8am. Still a lot of sleep but that isn't too unusual for me anyway.
