This weekend, the Australian National Basketball League (NBL) tipped off their first games of the season. The best thing about being together with a basketball player, I get to be a part of it all! I was like a little kid on Christmas waiting for it all to start during the week! The day came and I was definitely not disappointed! The games are back on free-to-air TV this year on ONE HD and they did an awesome job starting off with Melbourne vs Sydney where Sydney, unexpectedly, smashed Melbourne. The games and players did not disappoint either with some massive dunks, alley-oops, big three-pointers and one amazing steal with a dribble between the legs :). With over 5000 people at the game and apparently 172,000 people watching at home they definitely got a great show!
The highlight of the weekend was Sunday night when The Adelaide 36ers beat last years champions, the Perth Wildcats! Here's a taste of it if you missed the awesome performance!
And the one thing that got me out of my seat...
So proud of my man Rhys! His stats may not show it and he had a little trouble getting the ball through the hole but he's all over that Defence! Great game!
After the game, we went to a local pub for a pub meal to celebrate the win with a few of the boys! However since they are professional athletes, it did not get too messy.
The season is well on the way and I can't wait for the next game!
